Joy Corbella Counseling
Powerful Mind – Beautiful Life

Hello! I am Joy Corbella, owner of Joy Corbella Counseling, LLC. I’m here because I am passionate about helping people. I believe that all humans have an innate capacity for growth, healing, and transformation.
In 2012, I graduated from the Institute of Professional Excellence in Coaching as a certified professional life coach. With my MA in Clinical Mental Health from Denver Seminary and my license as a professional counselor candidate, I serve my clients with a unique blend of coaching and therapy, integrating the depth of counseling with the forward momentum of coaching.
Humans are made for safe connections, love, and belonging. When something disrupts this connection with us and others, we lose our capacity to experience joy, happiness, and the fullness of a thriving life.
As a trauma-informed therapist and life coach, I’m passionate about helping individuals and couples uncover and resolve what’s keeping them stuck in unhappiness and unfulfilling lives.
My philosophy is rooted in the understanding that painful, adverse, and traumatic experiences shape our beliefs, feelings, and the stories we tell ourselves, profoundly affecting how we think and feel about ourselves and the world around us. Whether it’s due to trauma, stress, loss, major life transitions, or unexpected challenges, these disruptions can leave us feeling lonely, anxious, depressed, angry, or stuck in unhealthy coping patterns. They can also affect our relationships, careers, and even our physical health.
The good news is that neuroscience tells us we can create new neuropathways with healthier beliefs, thoughts, feelings, and patterns that support the life we want to experience.
Powerful Mind ~ Beautiful Life!
Painful and traumatic experiences affect our entire system: mind, body, soul, and spirit. Using holistic, evidenced-based approaches, I provide a safe and non-judgmental place to help you process your experiences, thoughts, and emotions. I utilize somatic techniques and brainspotting to help you process the painful experiences and feelings stuck in your body.
I will support you as we uncover, identify, and challenge any unhelpful beliefs and negative patterns limiting your happiness and full potential. You will feel empowered to create and embody new beliefs, develop a positive self-worth, regain your authentic self, and begin functioning in helpful ways that support the life you want to experience.
My areas of specialty are women in all stages of life: loss, grief, depression, anxiety, trauma, and betrayal trauma—teens and young adult issues of identity, self-worth, resilience, and managing life’s transitions. Couples work includes pre-marital and couples counseling. I also support adult adoptees seeking support to unravel, understand, cope, and heal from the effects of relinquishment trauma.
I approach our time together with authenticity and collaboration, honoring your unique story and moving at your pace. I am here to listen with empathy and compassion and guide you with evidence-based practices and a deep understanding of the human experience.
Therapy can be a powerful space for healing and growth, helping you move toward a more authentic, joyful, and fulfilling life. If that sounds like what you’re looking for, let’s connect.

“I am not what happened to me; I am what I choose to become”

This is a powerful reminder that our past does not define our future. When we choose to take the path of self-discovery, we can transform our beliefs, thoughts, feelings, and choices to create a new narrative that empowers us to live from a place of healing, genuine authenticity, self-acceptance, and great compassion. From this place of peace, we can create a beautiful life with purpose and joy.
